Luray Caverns
A U.S. Natural Landmark, Luray Caverns is noted for its profuse variety
of formations and unsurpassed natural color. From well-lighted and paved
walkways, explore cathedral
sized rooms filled with
towering stone columns and
crystal-clear pools. Hear
the haunting sounds of the
world’s only Stalacpipe organ.
Above ground, experience
the history of American
transportation in an extensive
exhibit of cars, carriages,
coaches and costumes dating
back to 1725. Outdoors,
enjoy the botanical puzzle of
a one-acre garden maze, one
of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic States. New in 2009 is the Luray Valley
Museum and Gardens, an outdoor living history museum.
Enjoy a great artistic environment in the midst of all the creativity which our artists display all around the Warehouse.
The intent of the Warehouse is to inspire creativity through sound and sight. Warehouse patrons participate simply by listening and looking. We currently have over 1000 creative works by regional artists.
We are located in an old warehouse just off the downtown section of Luray, VA. Unlike many other galleries we have some fairly large sculptures - our unique warehouse location gives us this luxury. High ceilings and lots of floor space--and located conveniently on Campbell Street.....and...lots of free parking.
Whether you’re a cyclist who wants to spend the day on the Greenway, a cyclist who wants to test your skills on some of the local mountain trails, or a cyclist who wants to test the level of your endurance and speed on local Page County roads, we have the right bicycle for you.
We also have a number of pre-mapped local routes featuring scenic local roads and challenging mountain trails and hills.
At a height of 117 feet, the Belle Brown Northcott
Memorial contains a carillon of 47 bells, the
largest weighing 7,640 pounds. This is one of the
country’s major carillons and free carillon recitals
are held from spring through fall in a picturesque
park opposite Luray Caverns.
The coming of the railroad
in 1881 transformed the
economies of Page County
and the Town of Luray. The
Luray Norfolk & Western
Passenger Station represents
an important reminder of
Luray’s prosperous railroad
era. After a decade long
community effort, the newly restored Train Depot will be the home to the
Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center.
Thrilling visitors from around the world,
Shenandoah Caverns is the only cavern
in Virginia with elevator service. Explorers
of every age and ability will discover an
underground world of wonder. With level
walkways and no stairs, only our sights are
breathtaking!
