Description

This property is located South of Luray near the town of Stanley. You can expect a 10-mile drive to the town of Luray. Drive across the creek and relax leaving the city behind. Our Stone Cottage is nestled into the foothills of the lovely Blue Ridge Mountains. The majestic Big Meadows Mountain of the Skyline Drive is within view. You can rest on our flagstone patio and watch the wildlife running through our secluded acreage. We have bunny rabbits, deer, squirrels, turkeys, and a variety of birds that are frequent visitors here. There is a wood burning fire pit outside for moonlit evenings to enjoy. You can relax and melt your stress away by tubing down the Shenandoah River which is minutes away, or you can hike the mountains of Skyline Drive. Additionally, you can stroll along the Greenway in Luray, which winds along the Hawksbill Creek, and take a picnic lunch to eat at the tables provided. There are many antique stores throughout the valley, several stocked trout streams to fish, and a golf course to play in Luray. We hope you will join us for a tranquil getaway! We are 3.5 miles from the town of Stanley, which has a Food lion grocery store. There are several gas stations, quaint restaurants, and two Dollar General Stores for small items you may have forgotten. There is also a Walmart on Route 211 that is about 20 minutes away.

Massanutten Resort is about a 24-mile drive, Luray Caverns is a 9-mile drive and the George Washington National Forest Story Book Trail is about a 14-mile drive. The Thornton Gap Entrance to the Shenandoah National Park is about 25 minutes away.

This cabin was the perfect place for our 2 families to meet post vaccination. Plenty of space for outdoor games with the kids, smores and wine around the bonfire; we even saw a pair of bunnies. The game room gave us yet another area to gather and bond, especially with a pre-teen challenging the adults on the ping-pong table. The cabin was so immaculate that even our cleaning general (aka awesome-sister-in-law) put her hands up in praise. The kitchen was well equipped, the main dining area was able to fit all 8 of us comfortably and beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. We are definitely coming back. Amos recommended The Storybook Trail and it didnt disappoint. Next time well venture out to the vineyards, because there will be a next time for sure! The Richardsons and The Escuderos

This is a beautiful property, one of the best we have stayed at in the Shenandoah Valley area. The stone house is very modern, spacious, and clean. Lots of space to stretch out. Master bedroom has a huge, comfortable bed (tough to find in many VA rentals, IMO). There is even a well-equipped game room in the garage. The grounds really are a high point. Beautiful view of the Shenandoah Mountains, a nice fire pit, a nearby brook, and lots of green space to stroll. We continuously encountered deer and rabbits. Our dog absolutely loved it. Also only about 30 minutes from two entrances to Shenandoah National Park (Thornton Gap and Swift Run) for those interested in hiking or exploring Skyline Drive.

Wow! What an amazing place! We had a very underwhelming experience renting a place in Luray a few years ago and were hesitant to try again. The Willow Bend Stone Cottage was everything wed hoped for and then some. The pictures on the website do not do this place justice. Everything was clean and up to date, the beds were comfortable, and the back yard was amazing (definitely the star of the show). Do yourself a favor, make reservations and thank me later. Jason

This place was fantastic for our group. The location was very convenient to grocery and all the activities we were looking for. There are several kayak rentals within 30 min and same goes for an entrance to the Shenandoah National Parks skyline drive. The house itself was cozy and provided everything we needed. The fully stocked kitchen was a huge plus since we usually bring some of our own cookware just in case a house isnt as fully stocked as promised - this was not an issue at this place! The backyard was a great setup as well for smores and group games. Will definitely be back if we are looking to stay in this area again!

Amos was better than most of the cabins weve stayed at as far as accommodations and amenities. Most rentals wont have a ping pong table, foosball and a pool table in their garage. It was really like renting someones home. Yes it was in the foothills and not up in the mountains, but we still saw wildlife each morning and evening and it was secluded enough to love the campfire. Overall it was a 9 1/2 out of 10. Peter

Hello - we have stayed at Amoss many times and as usual this was a very pleasant time away from the rush in the city. It is very quiet and laid back. I like the fact the owners stay away and let you enjoy their property as it is your own place. We will be back again.

We really enjoyed this home. Great layout that created a quiet atmosphere. Beautiful property with plenty of room for the dogs to run. Awesome views. Plenty of games and fun things to do. Comfortable beds and great water pressure. Love the sharp kitchen knives. So many rentals have dull knives. Great kitchen with plenty of space for cooking.

We had a great time! We have rented the same house for the past three years to participate in the Luray triathlon. We always enjoy ourselves. It is the perfect house and location! I am sure we will be there again next year :) Thanks again, Michele

We love Amoss Willow Bend Stone Cottage and Shenandoah Valley! We first rented it last year and came back this year for two bike races in Shenandoah. The Cottage is conveniently located to the bike events and the Hawksbill Diner (always a plus). The Cottage was nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable. Well be back next year! Thank you, Deirdre

Our family enjoyed our time at Amoss Willow Bend and the Shenandoah Valley. The accommodations were excellent. We were excited at seeing rabbits, squirrels, and even a fawn at the cottage. The environment was relaxing; the weather was mild - a great combination - and just what we needed. We look forward to visiting again. Anita

We thought the house was beautiful and well maintained. The lamps were left on for us and it created a very welcoming atmosphere! The property itself was beautiful as well. We would definitely recommend you and the house itself to friends and family. Thanks for asking for our input! Debbie and Jeff
