Description

This cabin is located south of Luray off route 340, between the towns of Stanley and Shenandoah, Va.
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains this elegant yet warm and inviting log cabin was carefully custom hand-crafted with rough pine boards cut at the local saw mill located in Shenandoah, Virginia. With guests in mind, all the care and attention to detail, provided all the comforts of a home away from home. The cathedral ceilings will give you that romantic feel with the open floor plan and the warmth of the large stone gas fireplace. All the interior decorating has been chosen with the natural surroundings of the outdoors right down to the designer quilts. The master suite offers its own private bathroom with a corner jacuzzi tub along with a step-in shower for complete privacy. All three bedrooms are equipped with 42” HD TV’s and DVD players and the Great Room with a 56” HD TV and DVD player. The full-length front and back covered porches provide great areas for relaxing, enjoying cool evening breezes and viewing the wildlife from birds, squirrel, and deer. We provide rockers, wicker club chairs and dining table with chairs for the porches. Also, don’t miss the views of the river from the hot tub on the back-deck area. Hike down the path to the river for direct river access where you will have free use of kayaks, canoe, paddles, life jackets and fire wood for enjoying some marshmallows or smores. Benches are provided along the way for you “Daydreamers”. Don’t forget to bring your fishing poles, there are some great fish to be caught from the private dock at the river.
Centrally located with great attractions to the North and South, Luray Caverns and the George Washington National Forest Storybook Trail is only a 15-minute drive, and Thornton Gap Entrance to Skyline Drive/Shenandoah National Park is about a 20-minute drive. Massanutten Resort “A Four Seasons Resort”, Massanutten Water Park, and the Massanutten Ski Resort are only 20 minutes away.

We look forward to your visit and hope you enjoy making many wonderful vacation memories with us!

Please be advised you have rented a mountainous property. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, the driveway is a gravel or hard packed dirt surface. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing their property from these roads if you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.

We had an excellent time. The house was clean and well appointed. Everything worked as it should have. We are very happy with everything about our experience and would certainly rent through your company again and recommend this particular property to others. thank you, Ingrid

Our family had a wonderful week at the cabin and it was one of our best vacations. We spent lots of time on the water relaxing, canoeing, fishing, kayaking, and floating in a tube. The cabin itself was beautiful and very clean. I appreciate all of the quality amenities and you could tell this home is new. When you are on vacation, you want the best and feel you deserve it after working hard all year. This cabin gave me what I was looking for and it was well-decorated. Without hesitation, I would rent this home again. Thanks, Brenda

Hello Allstar Lodging, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "A Above the River Cabin" this past September. It is a very well kept and beautifully decorated cabin. We felt very comfortable there. We are planning to stay there again in the very near future. Thanks again for a memorable stay. Dana

We had a fantastic time. The house was beautiful and well maintained. There was everything there that we needed. There were a lot of fun activities to do in the area. We went to Luray Caverns, hiked several times in Shenandoah National Park, went horseback riding and ATV riding. Thanks again to Tim and Becky for sharing their beautiful home!

What a beautiful setting and what a wonderful, cozy, beautifully decorated, clean and functional cabin, I can;t say enough good things about this place - its everything you would want from a log cabin: river views and access, privacy, fireplace, jacuzzi, firepit and a wonderful kitchen. Everything is spotless and everything works! Highly recommended!

Our Thanksgiving at the cabin was wonderful:). This was our 2nd visit, and it was just as nice as our first (April). Clean, comfortable, we really felt "at home."

Our recent stay was truly maaahvelous! The attention to detail is outstanding. Everything you could need in the kitchen! And we were so surprised to find the cabin decked out for the holidays! The Christmas tree and garland with lights around the fireplace were such a cozy touch. The next day we got 2-3 inches of lovely snow (wow - what a great touch!) and our dedicated owners called to let us know they would be plowing the drive. Only one suggestion - the TV and DVD player need a sheet with some instructions. We cant wait to return!

Dear Becky, Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us. Everything was perfect and the cabin was spotless. We felt right at home and my little dog just loved exploring in the woods. You have truly thought of everything that a guest could need during their stay.
