Description
This Riverside Cabin offers two bedrooms (one is a loft) with 2 Queen beds, a full sleeper sofa, 1 ½ baths, and central ac/heat. A fully equipped kitchen with microwave, coffee maker and all the dishes, pots, and pans for the great cook-out on the Charcoal grill on the large deck. Relax in the living room, either watching satellite TV--now with ESPN for those great football games, listening to the stereo, or just enjoying the fire in the beautiful stone fireplace! Sit in the Sun Room and watch the Eagles or the Osprey fish the river or better yet, go out and fish the river yourselves!! The 2 ½ acres of river frontage is perfect for fishing, swimming, tubing, canoeing, and watching wildlife of all kinds.
There is much to do in the area. Home to Luray Caverns just 7 miles away, the Shenandoah National Park Thornton Gap entrance is 14 miles away, the George Washington National Forest Storybook Trail is 17 miles away, and Massanutten Resort is 33 miles away. There are also many outdoor activities from horseback riding, biking, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, golfing, hunting, and the Shenandoah Speedway. The quaint towns of Luray, Stanley and Shenandoah have antique shops, 'home cooking' and up-scale restaurants, and old-fashion down-home stores. There are Civil War Museums, Shenandoah Valley Museums, and more in the nearby area.
So plan your visit for several days or even a week to really enjoy all that we have to offer!!

Youre going to wish you could have stayed a little longer! The inside of the house was very clean and well stocked with the necessary items for a comfortable stay. That being said I found it hard not to spend most of my time outdoors. The back lawn is well groomed and the views of the Shenandoah are hard to beat. Homeowner provides tubes and a canoe for recreation on the river which is only a few steps away. The river bank is flat and mostly made up of smooth rocks. Which makes swimming, fishing, or launching a kayak/canoe from the property very easy. Do your homework and research on the area before driving out because signal is very scarce and wifi connection isnt great and limited to only one area.Pablo

We absolutely loved The Jive we will definitely be coming back to visit again. Very clean and inviting cabin. It was a very relaxing weekend. My kids loved the ping pong table and we all loved the hot tub. The location on the river is beautiful , the cabin is perfect. We loved hanging on the deck and by the campfire and playing by the river . Our dog had a wonderful time too.

Christophers Riverside Cabin is one of my favorite places to relax and get away outside the Beltway. My friends and I have now been there three times and loved every experience. The location, fire pit, and hot tub are all fantastic. We will definitely make plans soon to come back!

My family had a wonderful time at Christophers Riverside Cabin for our 2nd Labor Day Weekend. We definitely recognized some improvements from last year, such as the screens on the back porch and lack of hornets (thanks you!). For me, my only comment would be about recycling. We were not sure where to put our empty bottles, so we just kept them in separate bags and put them in the trashcan outside as we did not want to leave them out.
We look forward to visiting again. Thank you for all the help your staff has provided. This is truly a beautiful and relaxing place to enjoy a long weekend.

We had a wonderful time this weekend at the cabin. It was clean and very comfortable. The beds and couches were so cozy. The yard and river we super. We fished and caught crayfish, used the Jacuzzi and screened porch. The water was clean, there must be a filtration system. We hope to use this cabin again.
Notes
Please be advised you have rented a mountainous property. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, the driveway is a gravel or hard packed dirt surface. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing their property from these roads as long as you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.
